We have been very busy of late with plenty of runners and our raceday function at Cranbourne last Sunday.
We had 160 attend our day at Cranbourne and everyone seemed to enjoy a relaxed day at the races. As we didn't have a big syndicate this year there was no horse parade and the number of guests was down. This made for a more laid back day.
Dave Waylen was entertaining, as always, whilst running the punters club but unfortunately he could'nt land the quaddie. Many owners did walk away winners in the sweepstakes he ran.
There was plenty of food and everyone seemed to enjoy the day.
We have had plenty of racetrack action over the past few weeks and Monzero won his 4th race at Canberra on Melbourne Cup Day. He came from last, weaving through traffic to win narrowly. He is no superstar but he did look impressive on this occasion - his owners are having plenty of fun with him.
We have also had some near misses with Al Ahmar running 2nd first up, African Gem also finished 2nd last week (now placed in 3 of 4) and Elsinore led until the shadows of the post in his last outing before finishing 2nd.
Dual Command was slaughtered in a race he should have won - I have never had as many emails about a poor ride. He is one of those horses that cannot avoid trouble - hopefully he can win one for us soon.
We have a very busy weekend with runners spread far and wide.
Shysta gets her chance in a Listed race at Sandown tomorrow. They have predicted rain and we hope it pours as she is a swimmer.
AL Ahmar is running at Kembla Grange and Elsinore at Gundagai tomorrow. Both look good chances.
We also have Hussinger at Donald on Sunday and Monzero at Canberra on Monday.
Hopefully we can find a winner or two amongst this lot.
