Well Overdue News Update

Aug 30, 2012

As always it is very busy here at Hancox Bloodstock.

We have had plenty of runners and had our share of winners over recent months.

Spirit Of Many won at Wodonga and Pakenham recently. We have changed his racing style and he has been racing consistently well when ridden from behind. Another win looks to be just around the corner.

El Of A Time won first up at Hawkesbury in June for our new trainer, Greg Hickman.. She subsequently ran a couple of places and just loves the wet tracks. She is very consistent and looks to be developing into a handy mare.

Estada is another consistent performer who has finished in the first four in 7 of her 8 starts. She saluted at Geelong at the end of June before running a super race for 4th at Sandown.

After a lacklustre start to his campaign Grey Pegasus has found his enthusiasm for racing and won his 2nd race at Canberra this month. His effort in his last couple of runs has been terrific and we hope he can salute again before the end of his campaign.

Another recent winner was Danzoya. He had an unlucky prep. before saluting in a Country Showcase race at Mornington in July. It was over 2450m and he looks a nice staying prospect. He has been a slow maturing horse and I expect he will strengthen up and improve heading into his next prep.

Finally Snip Of A Girl broke her Maiden at Seymour on the 5th August. She has gone for a spell and will return to the races on the drier tracks in Summer.

Other horses racing well are Candy Tuft (run 2nd her last two), Al Ahmar (won 5 races and run 2nd in two of his last 3). Viking Tiger ran 2nd at his hurdling debut. Gunna Excel and Dollusion also placed in the last week

The list goes on.......

It is an exciting time for all racing enthusiasts with the good horses all returning to the races, looking to win their portion of the riches on offer in Spring. Memsie Stakes at Caulfield this weekend and All Too Hard and Pierro are the headline acts at Rosehill.

With our larger syndicates I always seem to be backing our horses under their true odds. This is due to the sheer number of owners who are betting on their horse. I understand this is a little frustrating for all owners in syndicates at times.

After a little thought I hope I have come up with a solution - I have been in discussions with a corporate bookmaker who is happy to offer our clients a bonus on winnings they receive on horses in which they own a share.

There are many incentives that can be made available to the average punter and I am working through them at the moment.

I will email owners more information next week.
