HANCOX NEWS

Aug 26, 2016

SPRING IS SPRUNG  - our horses have all turned one year older and we are looking forward to the next few months with some promising types.

The form of the bonny mare MOSSBEAT is already exposed – trivia question “Does any one know of another horse who has raced 25 times for  only 1 win and collected  $230,830 in prizemoney?” (Mossbeat has of course had four x 2nd place finishes and eight 3rds - she is twice stakes placed)

Mossbeat resumes racing shortly for the Hayes/ Hayes/ Dabernig team at Euroa and we hope she will increase her win rate. We also hope she knows she is responsible for an ENGAGEMENT – WE CONGRATULATE HR No.6. members who first met at the races a couple of seasons back and announced their forthcoming marriage last week NICOLE HUNTLY and DAVE GALLACHER. Nicole is the daughter of Sport RSN/Racing.Com commentator Warren Huntly.

Like all HR No.7. we are looking forward to the coming weeks with the Greg Eurell trained 3YO URBAN RULER who resumed with an impressive win at Sandown this week. He is a very promising son of Street Boss.  He is entered for the Caulfield Guineas and we hope he proves good enough to make it there.

It was great to see Ambassador Lad win at Echuca for his connections recently - he loves wet tracks and we have kept him in work while we are still a chance to get them - he will be enjoying a break as soon as the weather picks up and the tracks dry up.

Token Of love had a super 3YO campaign with three wins and several placings – this now 4YO mare is currently spelling but we think there is plenty to look forward to with her.

Classy Al has been a frustrating fellow for his connections, he tries hard and is always around the money.

We expect good campaigns from Fire Agate and Aristocratic and late in the spring Startierra and Havana Haymaker will return to the track.  It would be remiss of us not to mention some of our former team members who have been onsold and are racing successfully for their new owners Celebrakti who has had a great campaign for Gary Clarke in Darwin and it was nice to see Alawa and Heart Of Thunder win a race for their new connections too.

Our unraced 3YO’s include youngsters by ARTIE SCHILLER (2), HARD SPUN(2), BULLET TRAIN,  AL MAHER, SHOW A HEART, NOT A SINGLE DOUBT, CHOISIR, MOSSMAN, BRADBURY’S LUCK  etc.

We will be syndicating several unbroken 2YO’s in the next few months – they include youngsters by MAGNUS, SKILLED, CANFORD CLIFFS and STRATEGIC, your enquiries are welcome.

TIPS

Race 7 at Caulfield - MEMSIE STAKES
Black Heart Bart looks the winner
Sofia Rossa is the best value runner.
For your trifecta / first 4
Palentino - likes the 1400m 2nd up. -should be right in the finish
As much as I cannot believe I am saying it - Lord Of The Sky may get a softish lead, kick at the 300m and be there for a long way - will be there at the 100m but not sure about the finish line- put him in your first 4.

Race 3 at Caulfield
MAJESTIC LASS is a daughter of our old favourite  Belong To Many (Hancox Racing No 1 Ltd) and she looks a good winning chance.
